Seven years later, Zooni and her son Rehan Jr. (Ali Haji) are living happily in Kashmir. Zooni's father, Zulfikar Ali Beg (Rishi Kapoor), is a respected army officer who is in charge of defusing bombs in the region. One day, he encounters a masked man who is planting a bomb near a school. The man turns out to be Rehan, who had faked his death and escaped from Delhi. Rehan recognizes Zulfikar as Zooni's father and follows him to his house, where he sees Zooni and his son. He pretends to be an army officer named Rajvir Singh and befriends Zooni and her family.

Rehan feels conflicted about his feelings for Zooni and his loyalty to his cause. He also learns that his mentor, Colonel Ikram Baig (Sharat Saxena), who had trained him as a terrorist, is planning to launch a nuclear attack on India using a stolen trigger device. Rehan decides to stop Baig and his men from carrying out their plan. He contacts his former lover and accomplice, Malini Tyagi (Tabu), who is now an intelligence officer working for the Indian government. He tells her about Baig's location and asks her to help him stop the attack.

Rehan also confesses his true identity and intentions to Zooni, who is shocked and devastated by his betrayal. She shoots him in the leg and leaves him behind. Rehan manages to escape from the house and reaches Baig's hideout, where he confronts him and his men. He kills Baig and retrieves the trigger device, but is wounded by a bullet in the process. He contacts Malini and tells her that he has the device and asks her to meet him at a rendezvous point.

Zooni learns from her father that Rehan has saved the country from a nuclear disaster and that he is dying. She rushes to meet him at the rendezvous point, where she finds him lying on the ground, bleeding profusely. She embraces him and tells him that she loves him.   • Tabu as Malini Tyagi: An intelligence officer working for the Indian government. She is Rehan's former lover and accomplice, who later turns against him and helps him stop Baig's nuclear attack.
