My name is Kai Kyser and I am the Director here at 1st Step Learning Academy. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and invite you to stop by our center. I pride myself on staying up to date in the newest research in early childhood education so that we can continue to provide developmentally appropriate curriculum to our children. Ms. Jasmine McDoe
Hello, my name is Jasmine Mcdoe and I love teaching kids with a passion. I am a fun, outgoing, energetic, and creative teacher. I have been teaching kids for 14 years and it has brought so much joy to my life. I have taught children aging from the ages of two to eighteen. This year I'm teaching the two-year-olds and I am having the time of my life.
Ms. Roshaunda (Mari) Menezes
My name is Roshaunda (Mari) Menezes and I am a teacher's assistant in the preschool class here at 1st Step Learning Academy. I have been a preschool teacher for 10+ years. I studied at Early Education and Child Development at Ashford University. I specialize in dramatic play and the development of social
and emotional skills. As a stepmother, aunt, and grade school tutor it’s important to me that the children in my care thrive in an environment that promotes individuality, creativity, and self-expression. 1st Step provides that exact type of environment. I’m very happy to be a part of the family!
Ms. Wesli Simmons
My name is Wesli Simmons, and I am the teacher for the one-year-old children here at 1st Step Academy. I have four years of childcare experience. I have a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University, where I studied forensic investigations with a minor in psychology. I apply the knowledge that I learned in my psychology classes to my curriculum and activities in my classroom every day. Brain development and characteristics of who a person is critical during this stage. I’m helping shape the next leaders of this world.
